Concept Mapping

Information/knowledge is normally written in a linear fashion, much like this Blog, but in concept mapping, the author presents the ideas is a hierarchical or web format, with many links between concepts:

These concept maps, or Mind Maps as they're sometimes called, are an appealing and useful way to synthesize collective knowledge...they need to be skillfully used, however, by a teacher in a classroom situation when collating students' ideas in a group-sharing activity...I'll report back on how I get on :)
